- Bowen Therapy and Reiki are natural, complementary therapies for animals only and do not replace vet care. Should your animal have serious ailments, seek out the advice of a veterinarian as soon as practical.
- It is important that the animal is well hydrated with drink and food for treatments, as dehydration can incur toxic imbalances and the animal needs vet assistance, eg performance, greyhounds.
- Bowen and cancer: As the body’s blood flow and lymphatic system are stimulated to move and eliminate toxins, possible metastasis (cancer spreading to other parts of the body) may occur. The practitioner needs your informed consent to apply the Bowen treatment.
- Epilepsy: As with acupuncture, the Bowen technique stimulates the blood flow in the body and also to the brain, the animal may possibly experience a fit after the treatment. What is to be observed is the time period after, as the muscular tension and blockage are released, and the body and its energy are more balanced. The animal may be without a fit for days or even weeks. You may want to choose to do Reiki only for balancing energy.
